A plastic tree guard and a wooden tree stake have been removed and used to fuel a fire in the Hero’s Commemorative Orchard in Wyndham Park.
Several trees were also damaged.
This happened between 3pm on 23 April and 0730 on 24 April.
Inspector Gary Stewart, Community Policing Inspector, Grantham, said: “Whoever is responsible for this damage should hang their heads in shame. Much hard work has gone into the Hero’s Commemorative Orchard for people to enjoy.
“I know the community find this sort of mindless damage deplorable and I hope we can work together to identify those responsible.
” I ask all parents and guardians of young people who use the park, to find out any information they can. Those responsible know who they are and they should be held accountable for their actions.
“Please get in touch with any information that may identify those responsible and we will do the rest.”
