That before the PLANNERS got to change things…….Grantham stood much as it had always been, a quiet pretty little market town with quite a lot of character for at least 200 years then along come the “Brains” and tell us that “ it’s not good enough it has to be knocked down and changed for something better, something that will make money”.
So down come the houses the shops and the old factories and up go the faceless out of town shopping sheds, and the junk food outlets and faceless buildings disguised as housing and behold the people were happy.

Hate to disagree but the road system has and most of the shops have changed, Wide Westgate has been given a whole new look from what it once was
True the buildings are the same.
The rest of the town has undergone a vast change and continues to do so at a pace that is difficult to keep up with.
