A funeral service is taking place at Lincoln Cathedral on Tuesday 17 August that could have a very large attendance; drivers in the city should expect delays.
The funeral procession is expected to leave Saxilby at around 8.30am, and travel to Lincoln Cathedral.
The procession will then make the reverse journey back to Saxilby from around 12noon.
There are likely to be delays across the city – particularly uphill around the cathedral, in the north and on the A46 Lincoln Bypass – from 8am to 3pm.
As many as 3,000 people from around the world are expected to attend the funeral of a well-known mum and her ‘kind-hearted’ son.
Ryalla Duffy, 61, died on March 10 following a sudden illness, while her son Absolom (Absy) Duffy, 21, died on July 8 in a car crash.
If you are travelling into or around Lincoln on that day, please allow extra time for your journey, or use alternative routes.
