Parking on SKDC car parks is both detrimental to local business and a rip off.
Firstly, you have to decide – to the nearest hour upwards – how long you will be staying.
So you pay your fee, walk towards the shops, run into someone you haven’t seen lately – and before you know it – there are 20 minutes left and counting (downwards).
So why can they do what the hospitals do? You pay on return what you owe.
Imaging being halfway through an outpatient vascectomy when you suddenly have to dash outside to top up your parking fee. Also with hospitals, you just register and the bill is taken care of with online banking.
At least you know where you are with supermarkets, even if it does mean 2.5 hours at Asda before moving to Lidl for a further two. It’s a lot cheaper too.
