|Vaughan Hardy says…|
Grantham Civic Society have some gall expecting volunteers to pay £10 to “experience history at first hand” by helping to dig a hole 3’x 6 ‘ on St Peter’s Hill.
This work is being supported by a £2,000 grant from InvestSK’s Heritage Alive funding programme made available by SKDC.(ratepayers money).
The idea behind the project to determine the sites of the Eleanor Monument and St. Peter’s Chapel is admirable but credit for any results can hardly be claimed by the society as the sites of these two have already been determined and further funding from “anyone to have a go at something different” is blatant capitalism.
