The Thinker says
Remember the sign and location I think at one time if my memory serves me well it was a ladies hairdressers, and I think at some stage it or part of the shop became one of those pop up fireworks shops that seem to appear around Guy Fawkes night and last until the passing of the New Year.
Notice how it’s changed? The properties just after have gone to become at one time Keymarkets Gateways, then pulled down to make Aldi, the property on the other side of the road was demolished to make way for at one time a lawned area and then later a car park, and if we are to believe what we read it will soon become housing ( as if Grantham hasn’t enough of that) nothing it seems gets any permanency in that area, I bet the cement will not have time to harden in the proposed new housing before the council ( The Big Plan) will want to knock it down and shove up something else.
Sad to say what was once a character full pleasing small market town has been ruined because of the Brains and the Suites who are supposedly in charge. It will be very interesting to see how the town handles the traffic and vast influx of people before people recognise that their quality of life has been changed beyond all recognition. Don’t think it will happen? Take a good long hard look at the area Called Gainsborough Corner, perfect demonstration of what is to come.
