A POPULAR Grantham café will close this month after the owners decided not to renew their tenancy.
The Schoolroom Café, based in the indoor market, off Station Road (East) will close its doors on Saturday 29th November.
It was opened by Jenny Smith and Margaret Baumber nearly eight years ago, in what was once a classroom at Spittlegate School.
It featured rolls of honour boards of past pupils and had a school theme.
Jenny said: “I will continue to do outside catering as Schoolroom Catering (07760 227933) but I can retire now so I’m going to do a little less.
“We’d like to thank all our customers for their support. We are sad to leave but have decided it is the right thing to do.”
There will be a sale off assets on Sunday November 30th, which includes fridges, microwaves, crockery, cutlery and original school desks.
*Patisserie Ezra, which opened on High Street, Grantham, in July, with business support through the SKDC4Business scheme, has also closed.
