People living in the western Barrowby Road area have been invited to a meeting to discuss the proposed development of a drive through coffee unit, shops and a care home.
They have received a letter from Elmer Street North-based Grantham Estates explaining their plans to redevelop land near the A1 southbound sliproad, which The Heathers’ Care Home.
Most buildings are only 20 years old but include an older building formerly known as Bleak House.
The proposal would see three retail, possibly drive through, units built on the site, as well as a new care home on the site of The Heathers.
Residents in the area have been invited to learn more and share their thoughts on the proposals at Miller & Carter Steakhouse, off Barrowby Road on Tuesday (July 5) from 3pm to 7pm.
They can also email their views to info@granthamestates.co.uk.
The Thinker says
Grantham needs yet another coffee shop/ drive through like it needs a nuclear dumping ground. Before long every piece of green space will be full of coffee shops and junk food outlets! Don’t we ever learn?
