Simon Woodall says…
Can we get people more aware of their surroundings and respect for the area they live.
I was walking back from town today and took the route back to Hudson way via the train station tunnel.
Having smelt the strong stench of cannabis several times and then avoiding the dog mess whilst pushing a double pushchair, I then came across a large amount of discarded rubbish on the sloped footpath to the side of the station heading into the housing estate, as per the attached photos.
Why can’t people see this as something that is disrespectful and ask themselves who will clean it up?
Not only that but the wind will simply blow it all over the green area where kids play.
Surely someone saw this being dumped.
Maybe if the council offered a reward for info leading to successful prosecution it might but a stop to it.
The enforcement officers in the town centre can dish out £100 fines on the spot for dropping a small piece of litter, well I think it’s about time things changed and people started respecting the environment.
