NHS Trusts make top 100 best places to work
Working for the NHS in Lincolnshire is one of the best jobs to do, according to organisers of a prestigious national awards ceremony.
Both Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT), the county’s mental health, learning disability and social care Trust, and Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), the county’s largest provider of community healthcare, have been shortlisted in the Health Service Journal’s (HSJ) and Nursing Times’ Top 100 Best Places To Work 2015.
The glittering awards do is a celebration of the UK’s highest quality public sector healthcare employers.
An A-list is compiled from results of individual Trust staff surveys – the annual employee satisfaction questionnaire.
The numbers are then analysed and categorised into seven different areas to determine how good each Trust performed in areas such as: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, and employee engagement and satisfaction.
On the night in question, five award categories are up for grabs, with LPFT and LCHS hoping to triumph in Best Mental Health Trust and Best Community Trust categories respectively.
LPFT Chief Executive Dr John Brewin, said the Trust’s inclusion was down to its continual striving to support and engage with staff to deliver high quality patient care: “Our staff are 100 per cent dedicated and committed to looking after patients and to doing a fantastic job.”
“I’m delighted that as a Trust we’ve been recognised for our ongoing hard work. At the end of the day, if you enjoy your job then you’ll continue to deliver the very best care. That’s clearly evident when I talk to our staff and patients across the Trust every single day.”
Andrew Morgan, LCHS Chief Executive said: “We are very proud to be recognised nationally for our achievements. We will always aspire to be an organisation which staff are proud to work for and one they would recommend to provide care for their own families. I believe there is no greater accolade.
“Being among the Top 100 Best Places to Work is a testament to our ongoing success and commitment in supporting our staff to provide excellent care in the communities we serve. There is a great deal to be proud of in Lincolnshire.”
Both Trusts will find out whether they have been successful at the awards ceremony on 7th July at Birmingham’s ICC, as part of the two-day Patient Safety Congress.
