In celebration of the Big Butterfly Count, which runs from Friday 15th July to Saturday 7th August, housebuilder Allison Homes is running a butterfly photography competition, where entrants could win a Butterfly Conservation Gift Pack.

Local amateur photographers and nature enthusiasts can participate by posting their very best butterfly photographs to social media and tagging Allison Homes. The entry deadline is Sunday 7th August at 23:59.
Representatives at Allison Homes will then judge the entries and select a winner, who will receive a Butterfly Conservation Gift Pack courtesy of Wildlife World, which includes a butterfly barn, a pack of nectar rich wildlife seeds, and a conservation guide.
The competition is in honour of the Big Butterfly Count, which is the world’s largest butterfly survey. Organised by the Butterfly Conservation, the event encourages wildlife lovers to spend 15 minutes counting the butterflies and moths they can see. The gathered data then helps butterfly specialists learn about the current population and habits of UK species.
Samantha Hart, Sales and Marketing Director at Allison Homes, said: “We’ve had some brilliant entries to our Big Butterfly Count photography competition so far, and we’ve loved seeing them.
“It’s been a real pleasure getting involved in something as fun and important as the Big Butterfly Count. Helping to spread awareness of this wonderful and important event has been met with a warm welcome from everyone online.
“With only a week left, this is the final chance to enter our competition. We hope to see all your beautiful butterfly pictures up on social media soon.”
