Leading housebuilder Allison Homes is collaborating with The Lighthouse Club to make the most of its Help Inside the Hard Hat campaign, and support its construction teams in the ways that matter most.
The Lighthouse Club visiting Allison Homes’ Head Office
The Lighthouse Club is the country’s foremost mental health charity for the construction industry, with clubs located all across the nation. They provide physical and financial support to those who work within the industry, and aim to do something about the fact that every day, in the UK and Ireland, two construction workers take their own lives.
As a part of their Help Inside the Hard Hat campaign, to raise awareness of poor mental health within the housebuilding industry, The Lighthouse Club is visiting construction sites, builders’ merchants and hire centres all over the country, and giving talks on how to improve mental wellbeing.
Allison Homes has arranged for a series of visits from the Help Inside the Hard Hat team to spread the word about the charitable services and support available from The Lighthouse Club, letting its employees and site teams know that there’s someone to turn to when they’re suffering.
The Help Inside the Hard Hat team kicked off their visits to Allison Homes on Monday 11th July by delivering a talk at the developer’s head office in Bourne, Lincolnshire, followed by visits to its Whittlesey Green and Harriers Rest developments in Cambridgeshire, and Farriers Reach development in Rutland.
A Help Inside the Hard Hat talk on site
Mike Thompson, Head of Human Resources at Allison Homes, said: “We’re so excited about the opportunity to collaborate with The Lighthouse Club, and provide our site teams within Lincolnshire with this invaluable talk.
“Our industry is suffering from a serious mental health crisis, and it’s more important than ever that we get out in front of it. It’s our hope that working with The Lighthouse Club will shine a light on the problem, offer support to our valued construction teams and give us the tools to better care for individuals in the Allison Homes’ family.”
As a part of the tour, The Lighthouse Club is offering a chance for the workers on site to win a DeWalt Combi Drill, valued at £400 and funded by Allison Homes.
