June 30, 2017 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Ofsted Inspectors visited Sandon School on 14th June 2017.  It has been four years since their last inspection.

This school continues to be outstanding.

Ofsted reported: “The leadership and their team of staff are highly committed professionals and ensure that the pupils receive excellent teaching and care.

The leadership have maintained the outstanding quality of education in the school since the last inspection because of successfully building on the school’s qualities.

“The local governing body and the Community Inclusive Trust know the school well and provide effective support and challenge to school leaders to ensure that the high standards are maintained. The Trust provides a range of training opportunities for staff to continually improve their performance.”

They also conveyed that staff morale is high and the school has a strong focus on providing therapeutic support to enable the pupils to learn.  Ofsted found that Sandon School successfully promotes pupils’ communication skills and have a comprehensive system in place for checking pupil progress.

Headteacher of Sandon School, Stela Plamenova, said she is pleased that the hard work of all the Sandon staff has been recognised.

She added: “This report is true recognition of the dedication, hard work and endless devotion of all the teaching staff, support staff, and leaders at Sandon School.  The report states that pupils are making outstanding progress from their starting points and I am proud of the children and the staff, for the part they all play in achieving such great results.”

Ofsted inspectors were impressed with the school’s focus on ensuring that pupils have the skills and knowledge to lead fulfilled lives after they have finished school.  They reported that the Teachers have high expectations for their pupils and, as a result, the pupils are engaged and motivated.
