They were protesting at the George Hotel managements decision to try to get rock n roll dances banned at the Westgate Hall. 400 led a silent protest. The procession is seen in Elmer Street South. Led by Couns John Wallwork, Ald Sarah Barnes (centre) and Coun Elsie Davies, the procession have reached Elmer Street South. The building on the left was later demolished to make way for the JobCentre.
