Easton Walled Gardens has announced its first Botanical Art Exhibition, called ‘A Year in the Garden’, which begins in February.
Three accomplished and talented artists interpret the seasons through botanical illustration and painting.
The exhibitors are part of a distinguished group of botanical artists stretching back to the 16th century.
These skills are still used today to record flora throughout the world. They use extraordinary observation skills to reproduce the beauty and detail of the natural world.
The exhibition will take place in the Coach House at Easton Walled Gardens and entry is included with the garden admission fee.
The Artists are …
Norma Gregory: An associate of the British Water Colour Society and a three-times RHS Gold Medalist, Norma has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and works predominantly in watercolour and some graphite. She has been involved in teaching all her life and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and expertise with others.
Dawn Wright: As the resident tutor at Easton Walled Gardens, Dawn’s enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise of botanical drawing and painting really brings out the natural creativity within her students. Dawn’s work has received ’highly commended’ for the Joyce Cuming Award at The Society of Botanical Artists’ Annual Exhibition. Dawn currently runs her botanical art workshops across the East Midlands.
Sue Vize: Botanical illustrator, tutor and author. Sue’s passion is to work with graphite and coloured pencil. This passion has ultimately lead to her winning the Derwent Award for Outstanding Work in Pencil Medium and being invited to exhibit at the 13th International Exhibition of Botanical Art and Illustration at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. Sue enjoys sharing her experience in her art classes throughout the UK and abroad.
