TAKEN in 1947, these ladies and their children were busy potato picking in Long Bennington. The were working at Mill Farm in the days when farm work was labour intensive. From left are, back Bertha Staples, Freda Staples, Gladys Alderton and Joan Kirton; middle Rene Elner, Edna Parnby, Sylvia Fryer and Clarice Smith. At the front oare Brian and John Parnby. The picture was sent in by Mr G. Ellwood, of Long Bennington.
