A spokesman for Grantham Rivercare said: “This was discovered yesterday morning by one of our volunteers, after swift action it was reported to Anglian Water Pollution Watch, who followed up with a visit to the site within an hour.
“Because of previous incidents we have sampling equipment which allows us to get a sample at time of discovery which is handed to Anglian Water for analysis.
“AW investigation for most of Friday and the situation is being closely monitored by AW EA and our volunteers.”
