Making history – the HM Bark Endeavour was sold at auction – the one and only full size replica in the Northern Hemisphere of Captain Cook’s ‘legendary vessel’, the HM Bark Endeavour, and only one of two in the world.
Originally built at a cost of 2.5 million, this incredible vessel complete with masts and rigging, and built to the same dimensions as Cook’s famous ship was sold at auction at Unique Auction House, Lincoln, UK.
Steeped in history, the HM Endeavour is of immense interest, and currently houses a museum, catering facilities and also provides a unique facility for events; private functions; weddings; corporate and educational events; re-enactments; commercial filming; themed events, and for potential use as accommodation.
The HM Endeavour is currently landlocked but could be transported into open water where it is capable of being towed.
The new buyer paid £110,000 for the vessel.
