Mark Whittington (Conservative) has been elected to the Grantham Barrowby seat on Lincolnshire County Council following a by-election.
The seat had been vacant since former councillor Jo Churchill became the MP for Bury St Edmunds in May.
A total of 1,172 votes were cast and the turnout was 17.8 per cent:
- Mark Whittington (Conservative): 579
- Rob Shorrock (Labour): 257
- Maureen Simon (UKIP): 179
- Mike Williams (Lincolnshire Independents): 155
There were two spoiled ballots.
Lincolnshire County Council has 77 elected members. There are now 35 Conservative, 12 Labour, 12 UK Independence Party, 8 Lincolnshire Independents, 3 Independence from Europe, 4 Liberal Democrat and 3 Independents.
