For two weeks, the works of Sharon Elizabeth Thomson (her maiden name)
Saturday 2 July for a fortnight and I would urge all artists in the area to book a space as the cafe area where this is situated seems to be going very well.
The former KGGS student said: “I took up art again a few years ago.
“I go through phases of creation focusing on specific themes that are a current interest for me. I have exhibited at the Guildhall twice before. The first time it was all about trees which I am extremely passionate about, the second was about the moon following on from the amazing moon installation by Luke Jerram at St Wulfram’s as part of the Gravity Fields activity.
“This time my works are a reflection on staying sane during the pandemic.
“I spent my time during lockdown, as did many others, listening to music and watching films which led me to create portraits of some of my favourite musical influences and actors. It’s almost a thank you to those people and I hope others will appreciate the sentiment.
Sharon has returned to Grantham after many years away in Germany and is very happy to be back in the town.
She said: “I know some might find Grantham boring but it’s about opportunities and excitement around you. It’s everywhere if you just open your eyes.
“Grantham really isn’t as bad as some may think.”
