Sue S says
Absolutely right, well remembered, what happened to the steam roller?
poetman says
The steps were in the middle of the field next to the steam roller and slide.
Sue S says
Quite right – what happened to the steam roller?
trev says
The steam roller was taken away to somewhere in Leicester area to be restored and then it was supposed to be returned to be displayed on the roundabout on St Argusting way or that was the story at the time,
The roller itself was presented to the town by Eddison plant who had a depot on Harlaxton road i believe the company donated a steam roller to each town that they had a depot at.
The only remaining part of the company’s existence is the old office block which was transformed into the courthouse which itself has just closed
